Project Highlight: Skokie Public Library

Project Overview:

Skokie Public Library began their $17.5 million dollar renovation project in January 2020. The major interior overhaul of their existing 133,000 sqft. location will include a new digital media studios, a cafe with indoor and outdoor seating, larger meeting rooms and more. The project duration is an estimated 14 months of construction and is set to reopen in February 2021. The library has remained open throughout renovations offering curbside pick-up for their community during the pandemic. The second floor renovation is complete and open with some restrictions. The renovations on the west side of the first floor are well underway and will continue throughout the winter months. The architect on the project is Andrew Berman Architect and the construction manager Shale McNutt Construction. For more details and information on the renovation, visit the library’s website here.

Scope:

  • LVS completed the structured cabling installation using plenum rated Category-6 cable

  • LVS completed the installation of camera locations and wireless access points throughout the building

  • LVS completed the installation of cabling for the HDMI locations and speakers

  • LVS completed the fusion-splice of fiber cabling
